Sunday update

Well, I didn't seem to accomplish a whole lot today. The agenda today was to take 4 old (make that ANCIENT) computers and run a disk erase program on them to shred the contents of the hard drive completely. Mission accomplished with the "What Not to Wear" marathon on TV in the background. Tomorrow we will take them up to the church, along with several boxes that we have filled with "donate-worthy" goods for the youth rummage sale which is next month. The living room is once again cleared of debris (the computer clearing was done in here) and I am in the living room ALONE on the computer and watching TV in the background. I'm waiting for the Masterpiece Theatre Jane Austen movie at 9PM. I think it's at 9--need to check the TV Guide channel in a minute to make sure it isn't at 8PM. I missed last week and wanted to see it. Since I haven't actually read any of her work, but it is of the genre I generally like, I am interested in seeing the TV adaptations.

My children have all been shooed to their rooms--Eleanor is either watching TV or working on homework--not sure which one. Amelia is definitely watching TV--why do homework early. Olivia is grounded from TV and computer so I'm not sure what she is doing. She's supposed to be cleaning, but I'll bet that isn't happening.

Olivia and I had a meltdown this afternoon. I am sick and tired of telling her to clean and being ignored. She has manipulated me for far too long and I haven't had the support of Will to really crack down on her. He is now backing me. He gave her until a week from Monday, so she effectively has tomorrow and next weekend. That Monday is his next day off and he told her if it wasn't cleaned by then, he was going in and cleaning up and decluttering and clearing out. She will no longer have any control over what goes. I was going to do it tomorrow. I hope she understands that we are united and mean it this time. On the one hand, I can't blame her for manipulating the fact that we were not united on the issue, but on the other it just royally ticks me off. I'll bide my time for 10 more days though.

I was hoping to work on my scrapbook and craft area this weekend, but that didn't happen. I'm off tomorrow, but I really need to grade papers. I gave this group of students their first test last Thursday and I'd really like to give them back on Tuesday. Only 500 ID questions to grade--yuck! My own fault though--I didn't have to put those on the test. I also need to do some planning for this week. That is incomplete.
